Meet Dana Podell DPT, E-RYT

Doctor of Physical Therapy & Experienced Registered Yoga Teacher

Welcome :) If you landed here then you are in the right place. 

The beginning: My yoga practice began as a complement to studying Dance in college at Ohio State University. I originally practiced yoga as a way to heal and restore personal injuries. To my surprise, I discovered yoga to be both a perfect physical practice for my body as well as a place to cope with the emotional stress of life. Since my first yoga class 11 years ago, I've completed over 500hrs of yoga teacher trainings from teachers such as Evi Dimitriado, Rachel Krentzman, and Judith Hanson Lasater and continue to study for my 800-hour Yoga Therapy certification. My passion for knowledge inspired me to return to graduate school where I received my Doctorate in Physical Therapy (DPT) from Northwestern University in 2021. During my studies, I also completed additional course work and an intensive clinical internship in the treatment of pelvic health.

Now:  After some time living and offering my services in Tel-Aviv, life has led me back to my hometown, Chicago. I now offer 1:1 physical therapy, private therapeutic yoga, and group yoga sessions in and around the Chicago area. My approach is gentle and compassionate helping you discover pain-free movement patterns, sustainable self-care routines, and a positive relationship with your body.
